Mississippi man charged with attempted murder in Florida after reportedly firing a gun while intoxicated

A Mississippi man faces attempted murder charges in Florida after he reportedly fired a gun at two individuals while being intoxicated.

George Bailey, 51, of Aberdeen, Mississippi, was taken into custody in Pensacola, Florida, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, after an altercation reported by WEAR-TV in Pensacola.

According to authorities, Bailey allegedly approached two individuals lying on the ground and began arguing with them.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office stated that during the confrontation, an intoxicated Bailey fired a gun but missed his targets. He then reportedly continued to threaten the pair with the firearm.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Bailey is also charged with aggravated assault, battery, and discharging a firearm in public.

The motive for the incident remains unclear.
