A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly making terroristic threats against a Mississippi sheriff’s office.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department in cooperation with the Pearl Police Department.

Rankin County officials reported that between 10:13 p.m. Wednesday and 8:52 a.m. Thursday, the Sheriff’s Department Communications Division received over 20 threatening phone calls.

The caller reportedly threatened physical violence and made statements about “blowing up” the office.

Using call recordings, investigators identified the suspect’s phone number, leading them to Joshua Daniel Pace. A warrant for Pace’s arrest was obtained, and he was taken into custody shortly afterward.

Authorities also revealed that Pace was out on parole through the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a previous elder abuse conviction. He is now being held on a $100,000 bond as the investigation continues.
