The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department and Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi are asking for the public’s assistance in solving a homicide case after a man was found dead inside a residence last week.

The victim, identified as 54-year-old Adan Equiarts Favila, known locally as “Durango,” was discovered Monday at a home on County Road 4141. Prentiss County Coroner Greg Sparks confirmed that the State Pathologist identified Favila through fingerprints and ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.

Investigators are working to establish a timeline to determine when Favila was last seen alive and to narrow down the approximate time of his death.
