A Mississippi man has been arrested after being accused of killing an infant.

Officials with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office have arrested  Zachary Wells, 32, of Saltillo.

According to reports, Lee County deputies and medics responded to the house and found 3-month-old Asher Wells unconscious with an apparent head injury. The alleged incident occurred on March 11.

Medics airlifted the child to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

The child died on March 13.

Wells was arrested on April 7 after an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
