A man has been arrested in connection with an ATV crash that killed a 10-year-old boy in Amite County earlier this month.
According to Investigator Danny Meaux with the Amite County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened between 11:30 and 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, on Old 24 Compromise Road. The victim, Jordan Hill, was riding an ATV when he was struck by a truck.
The suspect, identified as Cody Rollinson, was arrested the same day. He faces charges of possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and felony leaving the scene of an accident. Authorities say additional charges may be filed pending the results of a toxicology report.
Rollinson made his initial court appearance last week. His bond was set at $41,000. He has since been released.
Multiple agencies, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol, are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
