Mississippi city mourns death of police officer after weekend ATV accident

The City of Olive Branch is mourning the loss of Lieutenant Ronnie Flanigan, who died from injuries sustained in an ATV accident over the weekend.

Flanigan, a longtime member of the Olive Branch Police Department, began his service in 2003 and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2014. City officials released a statement Monday honoring his dedication and years of service to the community.

In honor of Lieutenant Flanigan, Mayor Ken Adams has ordered all city flags to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, April 24.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 12 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Olive Branch. A graveside service and internment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park.

Flanigan is remembered by colleagues and community members for his leadership, commitment, and impact on the Olive Branch Police Department.
