Amazon is deepening its investment in Mississippi with plans to build a 930,000-square-foot inbound cross dock facility in Marshall County, a move expected to bring 1,000 new jobs to the region over the next three years.

The new facility will be located in Chickasaw Trails Industrial Park and will serve a key role in Amazon’s logistics network, consolidating products from vendors and shipping them to surrounding fulfillment centers.

“Amazon’s global presence is undeniable, and the company’s continued investment in Mississippi speaks volumes about our ability to quickly and effectively meet the needs of its massive consumer base,” said Gov. Tate Reeves. “This project will reap benefits for Marshall County, its residents and the surrounding region well into the future.”

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is supporting the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program and is also contributing to road improvements. Marshall County is partnering in the development as well.

Amazon says the facility will enhance service to customers in the region and strengthen its growing footprint in the state.

“Amazon’s decision to invest millions to establish a cross dock facility in Marshall County marks another notable win for Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director Bill Cork. “The addition of 1,000 more jobs sends a very clear message: we have the workforce and the business environment to support companies of any size.”

Marshall County leaders also praised the announcement, emphasizing the area’s strong logistics infrastructure and longstanding relationship with the company.

“Amazon has been a great business partner to Marshall County over the years,” said Board of Supervisors President Charles Terry. “We appreciate their investment and job creation within our community.”

The project is expected to be completed and operational within three years.
