Mississippi’s new coronavirus case averages hover around 500 cases per day, statistics show

Mississippi’s 14-day trailing average of new, daily COVID-19 coronavirus cases rose slightly Monday to just above 500 cases per day, as Mississippi’s new cases continue to remain relatively stable over the few weeks.
The Mississippi State Health Department reported 190 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
The state also reported two additional deaths Monday, both of the deaths reported Monday occurred on September 26.
In total, 97,049 cases have been found in the state since March. The state believes approximately 89,700 of those cases have recovered.
A total of 2,921 people in Mississippi have died as a result of coronavirus, the state reported.
The 7-day, daily average of new cases remained at 499 with Monday’s update.
The 14-day, daily average rose slightly to 502 cases per day.
Totals of all reported COVID-19 cases for 2020, including those in long-term care (LTC) facilities.
