Mississippi coronavirus averages rising again, statistics show

Mississippi’s 7-day and 14-day daily averages for new COVID-19 coronavirus cases continued to rise Monday to levels the state has not seen since early September.
On Monday, the state reported 296 new cases, bringing the total cases since the pandemic began in March to 105,228. Of those cases, the state believes approximately 90,500 have recovered.
The state reported no new deaths Monday.
A total of 3,101 people in Mississippi have died as a result of coronavirus, the state reported.
The 7-day, daily average of new cases rose to 646 with Monday’s update.
The 14-day, daily average rose to 584 cases per day.
Both averages have not been that high since the first week in September.
