A Mississippi city councilman was arrested in Alabama Friday evening.

WTVA in Tupelo reports that Columbus City Councilman Pierre Beard, 35, was arrested by the Gordo Police Department.

Beard is charged with driving under the influence (alcohol), possession of marijuana 2nd, drug paraphernalia-1st offense, and illegal alcohol.

Beard was booked into the Pickens County, Alabama jail on Friday, Dec. 1, at 8:50 pm. His bond was set at $2,350.

Beard represents Ward 4 in the city of Columbus.
