Miss Mississippi started her week at the Miss America competition in Orlando with a big win.

Miss Mississippi Vivian O’Neal won the preliminary fitness category — along with Miss Maryland and Miss Tennessee— Wednesday during the first night of preliminary competitions.

She won a $3,000 scholarship for the Fitness Preliminary Competition.

She also competed in On Stage Question and Evening Gown.

O’Neal will compete in Talent on Thursday night. She will be dancing.

The 2024 Miss America & Miss America’s Teen competitions are in Orlando.

Following a personal interview, and three action-packed preliminary nights showcasing talent, fitness, and eveningwear, Miss America and Miss America’s Teen will be crowned during the final shows on Saturday and Sunday.

The new ambassador selected for Miss America wins the opportunity to travel America and is awarded $50,000 in tuition scholarship. Miss America’s Teen 2024 will receive a $25,000 in tuition scholarship or may elect a four-year scholarship at the University of Alabama.

The Dr.Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Theater in Orlando has a seating capacity of 2,700.
