A man suspected of murder in McComb was arrested Wednesday night in Brookhaven while entering his place of employment.
Lazarhius Hodges, 33, is accused of killing 46-year-old Travelyan Knight Thursday, Feb. 29, on Argyle Street in McComb.
Brookhaven police worked with McComb police to make the arrest.
“We worked in joint operation with McComb PD to apprehend a murder suspect. We kept it quiet because we didn’t want anyone to know, we didn’t want to tip him off,” said Brookhaven Police Chief Kenneth Collins. “That’s why it’s so important to be able to go all these places. Crime doesn’t stop at the city limits. It’s imperative that we work together in all situations. If we leave the state, I always let the mayor know. It’s a 24-hour job.”
An arrest does not constitute guilt for the accused. All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
