Officer shot, two people dead following shooting at Mississippi DG store

Two people died and a Mississippi sheriff’s deputy was injured during a shootout Sunday.
According to WLOX TV, a deputy was called to a Dollar General store on U. S. Hwy. 49 in Perkinston about 4:30 p.m. When the deputy arrived, he was reportedly shot in the arm by a suspect. The deputy returned fire.
The suspect was identified as Perry L. Stephens Jr., 52, of Benndale. WLOX reported he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Another person, Kimberly D. Kennedy, 44, of Pass Christian, was also found dead. Her death was believed to have been connected to the suspect.
