A Mississippi man was arrested after locking himself inside a Laurel home for three hours.
The Laurel Police Department arrested Robert Pryor, 41, Friday morning. He’s charged with grand larceny – more than $1,000, burglary of an inner door, and possession of stolen property.
Capt. Michael Reaves told WDAM that the investigation began about 3 a.m. Friday when LPD responded to a stolen vehicle report at the Laurel C Spire store. They also received a report of a burglary at a home in the Kimberly Drive area in north Laurel.
Officers found the stolen car behind a different home on Kimberly Drive. When police tried to arrest Pryor, he allegedly locked himself inside the home.
After three hours, the report shows police fired tear gas into the house while police also entered. Reaves told WDAM Pryor jumped from a second-floor window before he was captured.
