Another tornado was confirmed in Mississippi by survey crews from Wednesday’s severe weather event while a center of damage is being investigated.
“NWS Storm Survey confirms damage in Harrison County consistent with an EF-1 tornado,” a report from the National Weather Service in New Orleans reads. “The tornado touched down on Cleveland Ladner Road and River Road where it tore off metal roofing material on several mobile homes in the area. It also snapped trees. It crossed the Wolf River, snapping trees and tearing off the metal roofing on a mobile home on Cemetery Road. It then moved northeastward and crossed Moran Road where it rolled a mobile home and separated the undercarriage from the rest of the unit. This mobile home had hurricane straps and bolts attached to the ground. The tornado then snapped some trees across the street from the home before lifting just after Moran Road.”
About Hancock County, the NWS wrote the following:
“NWS Storm Survey assessed the damage in Hancock County at Stennis Space Center and near Kiln. There is evidence of strong wind damage, which is possibly tornadic; however, given that the damage extends farther west into St Tammany Parish, a determination on the damage in Hancock County will not be completed Thursday. Pending further analysis of satellite data and initial radar analysis, a determination will be made in the future.
