Investigation launched after human leg found in Mississippi pond Sunday

A group of kids fishing at a Mississippi pond Sunday called police after their fishing line snagged what appeared to be a human leg.
WLBT News in Jackson reports that officials from the Flowood Police Department received a call about the startling discovery shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday.
The kids were reportedly fishing at a pond on Mangum Road.
The human leg reportedly still had a sock on it.
The Rankin County Coroner’s Office was called to take possession of the human remains. Officials with the Flowood Police Department and the Rankin County EOC plan to search the pond for more remains on Monday.
The case continues to be under investigation.
