Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate in a Mississippi prison.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation reports that an inmate was found dead at the Perry County Detention Center.

The identity of the man was not released on Tuesday.

WDAM in Hattiesburg reports that the body of the male inmate has been sent for an autopsy by the Forrest County Cornoer’s Office.

Officials with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office referred questions about the incident to MBI.
