Maples reportedly called the Waffle House on Highway 63 and threatened to shoot the customers and employees inside.

A man who officers believe Maples was targeting left the restaurant and began driving down the highway.

Officials say Maples rammed his vehicle into the man’s car until the car wrecked. When the man tried to run away, Maples reportedly fired shots at him several times.

Maples was arrested when officers served a search warrant at his house, where officials report that several guns and ammo were found in Maples’ bedroom.
