Mississippi authorities have released video images of a man who reportedly stole a $1,500 package from a porch while posing as an Amazon delivery driver.

Lamar County Sheriff’s Office officials say the crime happened on May 20 in the Chapel Hill subdivision.

The man reportedly approached a residence in broad daylight, dressed as a delivery driver, with an empty box and a cell phone in his hand, as if he were delivering a package.

When he reached the porch, the man reportedly switched the empty box for a package that had already been delivered to the residence.

Officials believe the man had been following a Fed-Ex truck in the neighborhood.

The sheriff’s office encourages everyone in the community to report any suspicious activity, even if it looks ordinary.
