A visit to an all-you-can-eat buffet will serve up memories for a lifetime for one Mississippi woman who — not knowing she was pregnant — gave birth to a baby boy at the Golden Corral in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

The woman and her family were traveling back to Mississippi from a weekend trip to Hot Springs when they decide to stop for a bite to eat at the restaurant.

Tayvia Woodfork, who experienced a rare condition called a cryptic pregnancy, did not make it to her table before she started to experience what she thought were painful cramps.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, a cryptic pregnancy, also known as a stealth pregnancy, is when a woman doesn’t know she’s pregnant. Research estimates that 1 out of 475 pregnancies may go undetected or unnoticed until a woman is about 20 weeks pregnant. One is 2,500 stealth pregnancies that aren’t recognized until a woman goes into labor.

Thinking she was experiencing a case of unusually painful cramps – not contractions — Woodfork sought refuge in the restaurant’s bathroom.

Woodfork’s sister went to the bathroom to check on her, where she made a shocking discovery.

First responders were called and arrived just in time for Woodfork to give birth to a 6-pound baby boy in the bathroom stall.

Mother and child received applause from staff and customers as they were being carried out on a stretcher.

To commemorate the momentous event, Woodfork named her child Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork.  But to most people the new baby is known, at least for the moment, as the Golden Corral child.

To the Golden Corral company, Tamaar will likely hold the record for being the youngest Golden Corral fan for a very long time.
