Two people arrested after they reportedly blocked loaded school bus with vehicle, approached bus with gun

Two people were arrested after they reportedly tried to use a vehicle to block a school bus filled with students and then attempted to confront the bus with a gun.

WLOX in Biloxi reports that Edwin Eugene White, 23, and Jacinta Kendral McPherson, 40, were arrested by Moss Point police.

Officials report that McPherson allegedly used a vehicle to block a school bus carrying children, while White approached the bus, reportedly holding a gun.

Later, police were called to Kreole Elementary School after a parent reported seeing a man armed with a handgun.

White was charged in the incident with felony simple assault against a school official.

McPherson was charged with interference with the operation of a school bus.

McPherson was released on a signature bond. White is at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bond set yet.

The Moss Point Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office are both investigating the incident.
