A motorcyclist was killed in a crash outside Mississippi State University on Tuesday.

WTVA in Tupelo reports that the motorcycle and another vehicle crashed on Highway 12 at the Russell Street and Stone Boulevard intersection in Starkville.

Starkville Police identified the motorcyclist who was killed as Samuel Alan Shirley, 31, of Blytheville, Arkansas.

The driver of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the hospital.

Starkville Police report that the crash is under investigation.
