A Mississippi man has been arrested for allegedly stealing and reselling livestock from a Pearl River County ranch.
According to authorities, Mark Deon Inman, Jr., of Pearl River County, turned himself in on two felony warrants for false pretenses.
Inman surrendered at the Pearl River County Jail on Monday, August 26, following an investigation by the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB).
The investigation, which began in 2021, was launched after Windy Hills Beefmaster Ranch in Poplarville reported a livestock theft. Inman, a former employee of the ranch, is accused of selling the ranch’s livestock under the pretense of acting on its behalf and then keeping the proceeds for himself.
“This is an ongoing investigation, with more charges expected. We are grateful to the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, and the 15th Circuit District Attorney Hal Kittrell’s Office for their dedication to this case,” said MALTB Director Dean Barnard.
