The granddaughter of a Mississippi man found dead in his home Thursday night is being charged with his murder.
The Natchez Democrat reports that Pete Taylor, 77, was found dead in his home at 409 Watts St., Natchez, Thursday night when his juvenile grandson came home and discovered his body. The grandson called 911 at approximately 10:42 p.m.
Taylor’s granddaughter, 31-year-old Annitta Taylor, has been charged with his murder, said Natchez Police Chief Caroline Green.
NPD Commander Jerry Ford said Annitta Taylor was a caregiver to her grandfather.
“This was an awful tragedy today,” said Adams County Coroner James Lee. “I continue to be baffled by these continuous incidents that I call avoidable. My heart continues to go out to these families.”
Taylor’s body is being taken to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for autopsy, he said.
The Natchez Police Department is in charge of the investigation.
