Two men have been arrested after they reportedly kicked in the front door of an elderly Mississippi man in a home invasion and burglary.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in the Pratts community on September 21, 2024.
Officials say that deputies responded to a residence around 7 a.m. after receiving burglary reports. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two men, later identified as Frankie Williams, 31, and Michael Morrison, 38, had forced their way into the home by kicking in the front door.
The suspects confronted the 66-year-old disabled homeowner, demanding money, his cell phone, and other property. Authorities say the suspects threatened to assault the man if he did not comply with their demands. Electronic devices, cash, and debit/credit cards were stolen during the break-in.
Investigators later determined that the stolen debit and credit cards had been used at multiple businesses in the Fulton area, which helped identify Williams and Morrison.
Frankie Williams was arrested in Fulton and has since been transferred to the Lee County Jail. A Lee County Justice Court Judge set his bond at $50,000. Michael Morrison was apprehended in Tishomingo County, where he remains in custody awaiting extradition to Lee County. His bond has yet to be determined.
Because the victim is both elderly and disabled, Mississippi law allows for enhanced penalties. If convicted, Williams and Morrison could face double the standard prison time.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office will provide further updates.
