A man died Tuesday night after a train struck him on a stretch of railroad tracks along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Ocean Springs Police report that the man died after being struck by a train shortly before 10 p.m. near Bienville Boulevard.

The train made an emergency stop after striking the pedestrian, who witnesses report was on the railroad tracks.

When police arrived at the scene of the crash, officers found the man deceased.

Police have not released the man’s identity and are continuing to investigate the incident.
