Three people were arrested after one of the suspects fired a handgun into a Mississippi narcotics officer’s vehicle, injuring the deputy.

WLOX in Biloxi reports that the officer suffered a non-life-threatening wound to the area of his face and head and is expected to be OK.

The Harrison County deputy was injured while conducting surveillance of a vehicle that the three suspects occupied.

Officials with the D’Iberville Police Department report that Trevor Barron, 21, Corid Davis, 23, and Tamoko Johnson, 22, all of Jackson County, were arrested on charges of aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle.

Officials say the incident happened after 9 p.m. Tuesday when investigators with the Harrison County Narcotics Unit were conducting surveillance on a silver Honda Accord occupied by the three suspects.

Surveillance began in Biloxi and continued into D’Iberville. Officials say one of the suspects fired a handgun from the vehicle near the intersection of Rodriguez Street and Gorenflo Road.

One bullet struck the windshield of the investigators’ vehicle, penetrating the glass and injuring the investigator who was driving.

All three suspects were taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

The three suspects were taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility.

DPD is investigating in conjunction with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.
