The family of civil rights legends Medgar and Myrlie Evers is urgently seeking help to locate their missing granddaughter, Nicole “Niki” Evers-Everette. Niki, the daughter of Reena Evers-Everette, has been missing from her Duluth, Georgia, apartment since Sunday.
The last known contact with Niki occurred around 4:55 p.m. CST that day, when she spoke with her mother. Since then, she has not reported to work, which her family describes as highly unusual. Niki’s cell phone, purse, and personal belongings were left behind, but her car was missing from her apartment complex. The vehicle was last seen on Monday night near Keys Ferry Road and McCart Road in McDonough, Georgia.
“I am worried and terrified for my daughter, Niki,” said Reena Evers-Everette. “We talk regularly, and it is unlike her not to be in touch. She does not have her medication, which is critical due to a medical condition.”
The family is working closely with law enforcement to locate Niki, urging anyone with information to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5700. Reena describes her daughter as having a “kind soul, a big heart, and a smile that lights up the room.”
The Evers family is asking the public to be vigilant and report any sightings as they continue their search for Niki.
