Officials looking for suspects who shot into Mississippi home with grandmother, grandchildren inside

Detectives are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that endangered a grandmother and her two grandchildren late Friday night.

WLOX in Biloxi reports that the incident occurred at a residence on Nixon Street, where Picayune Police officers responded to reports of shots fired at 11:59 p.m. on September 27.

According to authorities, a suspect on foot fired approximately 14 rounds into the home, with several bullets narrowly missing the grandmother and her two grandchildren, who were asleep in bed at the time.

Investigators are actively reviewing surveillance footage from multiple locations in an effort to identify the shooter. Police urge anyone with information or footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact Captain Rhonda Johnson or dispatch at 601-749-5482.

No injuries were reported, but officials are treating the case with urgency due to the close proximity of the shots to the family.
