A Mississippi teen has been sentenced to 30 years in jail after robbing at gunpoint a customer at a fast-food restaurant.
Dylan Fletcher has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, with 18 years suspended, for an armed robbery that took place at a Sonic in Pearl in April 2023.
Fletcher, who will serve 12 years behind bars followed by five years of supervised probation, was convicted for robbing a fellow teen who had just attended his school prom.
On the night of the robbery, Pearl Police responded to the Sonic on Highway 80 after the victim reported being approached by two masked individuals who displayed guns and demanded his belongings. The victim recognized Fletcher’s voice, despite the mask concealing part of his face. Surveillance footage from the scene confirmed the incident, capturing the robbers approaching the victim’s car.
Fletcher, while out on bond for the armed robbery, was arrested again in September 2023 for possessing a stolen Glock 17. The firearm had been reported stolen in an automobile burglary in Rankin County.
Fletcher will serve his sentence in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
