Four children were discovered unharmed inside a Mississippi house on Saturday, days after a suspected murder-suicide left two adults dead on the property.
Jackson Police identified the victims as Sharece Fowler and Darius Kyles. Authorities believe the tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, but the bodies were not discovered until family members, concerned by a message from one of the victims and a lack of communication, went to check on the household.
The bodies of Fowler and Kyles were found in the carport of the home and appeared undisturbed, despite the presence of four children inside.
The children, ranging in age from 2 to 7, included a 7-year-old, two 3-year-olds, and a 2-year-old.
Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade expressed concern over the long-term effects of the ordeal, stating, “That is trauma that those babies will never get over.”
