Police are investigating a violent weekend in Jackson.

Jackson police say eight shootings — including two deaths — were reported in the capital city over the weekend.

The Clarion Ledger reports that a Saturday night shooting claimed the life of 33-year-old Charles Watson, who was found in a driveway near a vehicle. Three other people with gunshot wounds were found nearby. They’re expected to survive.

Police say 22 year-old Linzell Giles was found shot Sunday afternoon, and later died. Two others survived gunshot wounds in that case.

A separate shooting on Sunday left a man in critical condition.
