Ole Miss alum J. Hogan Gidley named deputy White House press secretary

President Donald Trump’s latest hire is J. Hogan Gidley, a University of Mississippi alum who will serve as a deputy White House press secretary.

Serving under White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be familiar for Gidley having worked together for her father, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, on his presidential campaign in 2016.

News of Gidley’s hire spread fast Tuesday night:

Gidley graduated from the University of Mississippi with a broadcast journalism degree in 1998.

He will be the second Ole Miss Grad to be in the WH Press Leadership. Larry Speakes was the first one… an Ole Miss Grad and was Pres Reagan’s Press Sec after Brady and Reagan were almost killed by Hinkley in 1981.
