More then 56,000 in Mississippi out of power after powerful storm system moves across state

More than 56,000 households and businesses are without power after a series of powerful storms moved Central Mississippi Thursday night and Friday morning.
The website Poweroutage.us reports that most outages in the state are in Rankin County, where more than 20,000 customers were without power as of 5 a.m. Friday.
Other outages were being reported in Jasper, Newtom, Scott, Clarke, Hinds and Claiborne County. Copiah, Simpson and Smith counties.
More than 5,000 customers were without power in George County in the southeast corner of the state.
At 5 a.m., most of the outages were being reported by Entergy (28,, 371 outages) and Southern Pine Electric (14, 711 outages.)
