A Mississippi prison inmate attempted to escape custody Thursday afternoon, but only got as far as the prison’s air vents before he was nabbed.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office told Fox-13 TV in Memphis that the attempted escape occurred at approximately 3 p.m. and the inmate was found a short time later in the air vents of the Marshall County Correctional Facility.
The prison is a private, for-profit prison operated by Management and Training Corporation. The facility is located in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and houses state inmates under a contract with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
