Newly reported cases of coronavirus in Mississippi at stable level, health officials say

Mississippi reported the number of new COVID-19 coronavirus cases found in the state remained relatively stable on Thursday.
On Thursday, the state reported 578 new cases, bringing the total cases since the pandemic began in March to 102,819. Of those cases, the state believes approximately 90,500 have recovered.
The state reported 23 new deaths Thursday. Of those deaths, 10 occurred between August 19 and September 29.
A total of 3,074 people in Mississippi have died as a result of coronavirus, the state reported.
The 7-day, daily average of new cases dipped to 562 with Thursday’s update.
The 14-day, daily average dipped to 536 cases per day.
