Police are investigating after a man who appeared to be sitting in the doorway of his Mississippi residence was found dead of a gunshot wound.

Gulfport Police responded to a request for a welfare check on Tuesday, Dec. 12, shortly after 9 a.m.

A passerby reported to police that a man who appeared to be sitting in the doorway of a residence in the 1500 block of 21st Street in Gulfport had not moved since the night before.

When officers arrived to check on the man, they discovered that he was dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

The man has been identified as Cameron Fitzpatrick Hall.
