Family members have released the name of the man killed in a deadly carjacking at a Mississippi truck stop Tuesday night.
The victim, identified by family members as Vince Ratliff of Wesson, was shot and later died at the hospital shortly before midnight at the Weson Truck Stop off of Interstate 55.
Authorities continue to look for Ratliff’s killer.
The Copiah County Sheriff’s Office released a screenshot of the shooting suspect from security video Wednesday and said that the suspect is still on the run and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Ratliff died after an armed robbery at Wesson Truck Stop just before midnight Tuesday. The suspect reportedly shot Ratliff and stole the vehicle Ratliff was in.
“The offender left in the victim’s car and abandoned it a short distance later,” Copiah County Sheriff Byron Swilley said in a statement Wednesday morning. “At this time the offender is not in custody.”
Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect should call the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office at 601-892-2023 or 9-1-1.
