A Mississippi man faces up to life behind bars for severely shaking his infant daughter.
Timothy Warren Wilson, 24, was found guilty of felonious child abuse after a five day trial in Rankin County Circuit Court.
Wilson was arrested in 2022 after emergency responders were called to Lakeland East Apartments in Flowood in response to reports of an unresponsive 10-week-old child.
An investigation led to Wilson’s arrest after medical personnel determined the infant to had bleeding in multiple parts of her brain and in both eyes.
Wilson reportedly later confessed to being at home alone with the child and shaking the baby till she was silent out of frustration.
During the trial, the defense claimed that the child had a seizure that resulted in her severe injuries. The state contends the baby suffered from abusive head trauma, often called shaken baby syndrome.
Wilson is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13. He faces a minimum of five years behind bars.
